Lessons Learnt

01

The biggest lesson was the need to create financial journeys for customers and ensure continued engagements and targeting of the right audiences for maximum ROI. There is also the need to focus on
workplace financial wellness since employees are already earning and likely to consume financial products

02

Using a relatable story helps the audiences connect with the theme of the event. We started by pushing economic empowerment theme.

03

Financial education and information helped presenters and panelists to connect with the audiences

04

25 participants attended as couples hence the need to use households as a target audience for financial services products for positioning and expand outreach

05

60% of the attendees were women

06

There is huge appetite for African themed and driven financial content through master classes, stories, articles, videos, social media posts etc

07

Households want to know what is in it for them from financial services players and see the relationship as a journey

08

Entrepreneurs want financial services companies to help them succeed

09

There is need for enterprise development programs for SMEs

10

The two big ideas on wealth baskets were on financial freedom and home ownership packaged as journeys

11

Other topics that generated conversations were on debt management, collaborations and partnerships, interdependence and estate administration

12

According to the audience, they were happy when the two CEOs present freely interacted with them and were genuinely interested in them

13

The audience is more engaged with brands that interact with them even more personally and then they become aware of the need for some of the financial products offered.

14

Financial services companies sit with a lot of knowledge that can help investors and consumers in decision making

15

Diaspora needs more engagements. They have needs such as home ownership, financial freedom and setting up businesses when they come back home. A theme around “Returning 101” could help.

16

Thought leadership from the financial services companies help augment financial efforts from Abojani then the skills and tools from financial services help complete the investment/financial

journeys of professionals and entrepreneurs
